Colm Meaney

Colm is the 2025 winner of the prestigious IFTA Lifetime Achievement Award. A Golden Globe and Olivier Award nominee, he plays a lead in Chris Andrews’ BRING THEM DOWN which received critical acclaim, whilst other recent work includes IN THE LAND OF SAINTS AND SINNERS, Neil Jordan’s MARLOWE, THE SERPENT QUEEN (Starz), GANGS OF LONDON (Sky), and THE BANKER (Apple).

He played the iconic role of Chief Miles O’Brien in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION for many years which has earned him a loyal fan base as well his early roles in CON AIR, THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS, THE COMMITMENTS and LAYER CAKE. His role as Martin McGuinness in THE JOURNEY opposite Timothy Spall’s Ian Paisley won him the 2017 IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role. Colm is also well known for his many comedic roles with appearances in ALAN PARTRIDGE, ITS ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA and GET HIM TO THE GREEK.

Theatre credits include Big Daddy in Benedict Andrews’ critically-acclaimed CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF in the West End, and the Tony nominated Broadway production of THE ICEMAN COMETH opposite Denzel Washington.

Later this year he is starring in two highly anticipated book adaptations, THE LAST DAYS OF RABBIT HAYES starring Sam Claflin and REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES (Netflix) directed by Olivia Newman.
