Urvashi Chand

Urvashi is passionate about nurturing emerging talent. Drawing from her experience as a British Asian woman in the industry, she is committed to increasing diversity in film and television, championing stories that provide a counter-narrative to the status quo and amplify voices that have been excluded. Her work in casting reflects her dedication to facilitating these stories, helping filmmakers share unique perspectives with authenticity and depth. Urvashi is eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals and contribute to a more inclusive and dynamic industry.  During decades of curating talent for feature films and television in both the UK & Asia, her work has been instrumental in launching the careers of notable actors, including Lashana Lynch, Robert Pattinson, Tom Hiddleston, and Jonathan Bailey.  Most recently, Urvashi cast the BBC’s highly anticipated 6 part crime thriller series VIRDEE, based on AA Dhand’s best-selling novels and produced by Magical Society for BBC iPlayer and BBC One. Cast includes Staz Nair (Game of Thrones) alongside Aysha Kala (Criminal Record), Vikash Bhai (Crossfire), Kulvinder Ghir, Sudha Bhuchar, Elizabeth Berrington, and Danyal Ismail.
